Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ChipCtx (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including those using our MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, API, or web interface.
2. Description of Service
ChipCtx provides register-level chip metadata, peripheral definitions, and documentation snippets optimized for AI assistants (such as Cursor, Claude, and GitHub Copilot). Our mission is to bridge the gap between complex semiconductor documentation and modern AI-driven development workflows.
The Service includes, but is not limited to, SVD (System View Description) data parsing, register map indexing, and memory layout visualization.
3. Use of Chip Data
Permitted Use: You may use the data provided by ChipCtx for individual development, debugging, and AI-assisted programming.
Restrictions: You agree not to:
- Bulk scrape or replicate our entire database for redistribution.
- Use the Service to build a competing semiconductor data platform.
- Remove or obscure any proprietary notices or vendor attributions.
- Exceed API rate limits or attempt to disrupt the Service infrastructure.
4. Intellectual Property
Vendor Data: All semiconductor technical specifications, register names, and datasheet excerpts are the property of their respective vendors (e.g., STMicroelectronics, Nordic Semiconductor, Espressif Systems, etc.). ChipCtx makes no claim of ownership over this original vendor-supplied data.
ChipCtx Platform: The platform architecture, normalized data formats, MCP server implementations, and unique aggregations are the intellectual property of ChipCtx.
5. Accuracy & Hardware Risks
While we strive for accuracy based on official SVD and PDF sources, ChipCtx does not guarantee that any register address, bitfield, or memory offset is 100% correct. Hardware implementations may vary by revision or silicon stepping.
You are responsible for verifying all register values against official manufacturer documentation before performing any hardware-level operations.
Incorrect register configuration (e.g., writing to restricted memory, incorrect clock settings, or voltage misconfiguration) can cause permanent hardware damage. ChipCtx is not liable for any such damage.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
7. Limitation of Liability
CHIPCTX SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF OUR DATA OR SERVICES.
8. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
